  * The Accounting Blog:  Subtitled "Smart accounting for small companies", not updated

  * Accounting for Non-Accountant's Blog - John Day:  Posts are educational with great examples of accounting principles, but not up-to-date!

  * Golden Practices - Michelle Golden:  Updated recently, this may be considered more of a Marketing blog, but I might have hit "paydirt" with one of her resources - Accounting Blog list!

  * USA Today - Money:  A bit more broad-based than just accounting, these daily feeds are from the USA Today newspaper, covering headline stories in business, finance, economy, and real estate.

 

Spanish

  * Spanish Word A Day - Braser Soft:  A new Spanish word or phrase every day!  Examples and translations are provided, as well.

  * Spanish Learning Blog:  Fun lessons and discussion about learning Spanish, this blog has a good history.  The author recently announced a move to a new site - InstaSpanish, so mark both!

  * Really Learn Spanish:  This site has not been updated recently, but it posts podcasts and according to the author, "...A series of podcasts aimed at helping you in your efforts to learn Spanish using unconventional techniques I developed during the seven years I spent in Spain teaching English and learning Spanish."

  * Learn Spanish with Notes in Spanish:  This site is pretty comprehensive and focuses on "real and exiting conversation from Spain" using podcasts.

  * Engadget Spanish:  This is a popular blog, Engadget, entirely in Spanish to practice reading in the Spanish language!

  * Library Link of the Day: a daily link for keeping up to date with the library profession

  * NPR News - Books:  National Public Radio's Book page, including stories and book reviews

  * Powell's Books - Review a Day:  A daily book review

  * USA Today - Books:  Daily feeds from the USA Today online newspaper about authors, books, and general publication information.

  * Blue Skunk Blog - Doug Johnson:  Doug is the Director of Media and Technology for Mankato Public Schools in Minnesota and a highly respected blogger about library and digital citizenship issues.

  * School Library Journal:  Adult books for high school students including mystery, biography, sci-fi, romance, sports, poetry and literature - monthly selections from SLJ

 

FCAT/TABE and General Test Preparation

  * Get an Edge on Tests:  This is a series of podcasts, featuring the latest expert information to help you get an edge on standardized tests.

  * Study Center:  A great and fairly frequently updated blog about general test preparation tips!

  * Education Info Blog - Tests:  This is part of a larger blog regarding education and includes some informative posts and links regarding test-taking.

  * English 720:  This podcast feed pairs with a free online course focused on developing mastery of the English language.  It was selected for this assignment because it also has a special focus on preparing for the vocabulary sections of the SAT and ACT.

  * College Confidential:  A discussion forum for SAT prep and more...it offers a forum for folks with questions and suggestions.

 

Soft Skills

  * Communication Nation:  As the blog author notes, "Communication is one of the most important skills anyone can have in business, in life as individuals and as a species..." 

  * Better Communication Results - Lee Hopkins:  This blogger is touted as "one of Austrailian's leading thinkers on communication strategy in an onlilne environment" - even if he isn't, there are some unique tidbits at this site!

  * Dr. Cherie Carter-Scott's Articles:  Another so-called expert in the field of 'soft skills'...Her articles range from goal setting to overcoming negativity to team building and most everything in between.

  * Negotiating Tip of the Week:  A podcast series with an emphasis on learning negotiating skills - this is certainly a 'niche' area, but probably one of the soft skills that most be quite beneficial.

  * Zen Habits:  And lest we forget to relax and become more productive....this blog offers everything from "5 Inspirations for Being in the Moment" to "A Permanently Clear Desk"...hmmm - guess I'd better keep this one!

  * Engadget: Is a technology weblog which is part of the Weblogs Inc. Engadget is updated multiple times a day with articles on gadgets and consumer electronics.

 

  * CNET News: Tech news and business reports by CNET News.com. Focused on information technology, core topics include computers, hardware, software, networking, and Internet media.

  * Extremetech: News, reviews and commentary and how-to on the latest hard core technology.

  * MIT Computer Science and Technology: Computer science and technology headlines from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology News Office.

  * MIT Electrical Engineering and Electronics: Electrical engineering and electronics headlines from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology News Office.

  * Techdirt: Techdirt employs a team of top-notch analysts with a broad range of experience.

  * Cooltools: Cool tools really work. A cool tool can be any book, gadget, software, video, map, hardware, material, or website that is tried and true.

  * Digital Photography Review: Digital Photography Review, Latest digital camera news, camera reviews, galleries, technology and comparisons.

  * The Google Web Log: New google news fast.

 

General Vocational/CTE Information

  * Career College Central (RSS feed): A website that bills itself as "The Definitive Voice of the Career College Sector of Higher Education".  Has a wide range of resources and topics address at the site.

  * Journal of Vocational Education and Training (RSS feed):  A scholarly journal, published four times a year, that takes a research-based perspective on vocational education issues; abstracts can be read directly from the site, although access to full articles may require sign-in and/or subscriptions.

  * ASCD Blog:  Not strictly a Vocational/CTE-specific blog, but often contains posts relevant to issues we face in CTE.

 

Marine Service Technology

  * Panbo Marine Electronics: A blog primarily about marine electronics, but also contains information on other issues related to boats, engines, etc.

  * Ask Jack Rabbit:  A Q&A style blog allowing for a wide range of topics related to the marine and marine electronics industries.

 

PC Support

  * About PC Support: Q&A blog on all-things PC-Support-related.

  * PC Sympathy:  Broader than PC-support issues only, a website with lots of late-breaking news related to PCs.

  * TechNibble (RSS feed):  A website designed for computer technicians or the home user, includes both PC-Support issues and business startup and management items.

 

Early Childhood Education

  * NEA Early Childhood Education (RSS Feed): The segment of the National Education Association's website on research, policies, and resources related to ECE.

  * ECE Resources:  Initially designed for homeschooling parents, this blog contains lots of resources, ideas, and activities useful to ECE students and providers.

  * ECE Blogspot :  Maintained by a university professor and specialist in ECE, this blog also has a number of great ideas, and raises important issues, relating to ECE.

 

English

  * Dana Huff English : "Issues, Ideas, and Discussion in English Education and Technology" - says it all... a great blog, by a current high school English teacher, that discusses her classroom, technology in the classroom (especially Web 2.0), and larger issues of relevance to education.
